Bedabrat currently plies his trade in Bangalore, for one of our esteemed Professional Services clients. He is a new face here in Resource Solutions, but his recruitment experience is nothing to scoff at. We talk work, rejoining the workforce, and the future in this exciting Employee Story – read on for an insightful peek into entering the RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing) industry.

What is your current role, and what does your typical day look like at Resource Solutions?

I am currently a Recruitment Coordinator, working on background checks for our client. This is a new project that started just over a month ago, but I have been with Resource Solutions since August. Work usually starts with a daily catch-up with my manager, Tanuj, where we go through the tasks due and potential challenges of the day. These daily connects really helped me get up-to-speed quickly, given the remote work arrangements when I first started.

What did you do prior to working at Resource Solutions?

My career has always been centred around recruitment coordination and support, and I have worked in these functions at Accenture and Amazon. That was before the pandemic. I took a break when COVID-19 first hit, and Resource Solutions was my first foray back into the workforce.

You mentioned that it is your first job after a period of rest – how have you found the restart?

It has been very smooth, and that is partly due to the support Resource Solutions has rendered. I had to undergo surgery soon after starting here, which would have side-lined me for two months. Resource Solutions went out of their way to give me a week off for recovery, while allowing for work-from-home arrangement, so I would be able to continue getting on track, from both a physical and career standpoint.

What are the main challenges in your role?

Working in a new role, for a new client, within a new business model, does pose quite a challenge. The volumes we work with are also high, and there is plenty of learning to be done on the job. This is all done with great support, however. My manager Tanuj ensures that I am well-placed to conduct my work during our daily connects, and I am on schedule to complete my process training by early next year.

Who do you find the working conditions?

It has been pleasant. The concept of a home office is rather new in India, but Resource Solutions has embraced it, allowing me to restart my career even post-surgery. I have also been provided with all the tools and systems to conduct work efficiently, and do the best work I can.

What about the culture?

What really stands out is how Resource Solutions values are fully deployed into work, where we constantly adapt to improve the client experience. Aside from this, I have also been highly engaged with global events like the Resource Solutions Charity Day. Such events make me feel truly connected with my colleagues across all territories.

“Resource Solutions is a people-centric organisation, and it shows in the way work is conducted. From the management team and work processes to the global exposure and training that supports it, Resource Solutions has a bright future ahead, and I am excited to be part of it”.

What does your career path look like?

My existing role will keep me occupied for the next couple of years, but I aspire to move forward into a management role. Resource Solutions have been incredibly supportive of this through their variety of upskilling and development courses. I have had the opportunity to take about 30 to 40 of them so far, ranging from Business Email Communications to Conflict Management. Wherever these skills take me, I hope that my learning and career journey will continue developing within Resource Solutions.

If a friend was considering a career with Resource Solutions, what would you say?

I have already referred a few people to Resource Solutions, actually! The first thing I usually say is that Resource Solutions is a people-centric organisation, and it shows in the way work is conducted. From the management team and work processes, to the global exposure and training that supports it, Resource Solutions has a bright future ahead, and I am excited to be part of it.
