Nishita is a Senior Direct Recruiter, fast headed into three years with Resource Solutions at our Hyderabad Global Service Centre (GSC). She tells us about how her journey with Resource Solutions was almost sidetracked early on, and how a show of trust and months of determination has inspired her to continue attracting and developing talent in the region.

Could you tell us more about your career journey at Resource Solutions? 

I first joined Resource Solutions in March 2019 and was assigned to a Banking & Financial Services client account as a Direct Recruiter. When the pandemic hit, I continued to work on several project accounts, finally settling into the Talent Acquisition team with one of our Engineering clients at the start of this year. Getting the opportunity to work with multiple global clients has been great exposure for me, and the learning curve has been equal parts comfortable and challenging. 

What did you do prior to working at Resource Solutions? 

I began my HR (Human Resource) journey in a local startup back in my hometown. My role then was closer to a HR generalist, wearing many hats, as is common in a small firm. After getting married, I relocated to Hyderabad, where my career focus expanded to include internal recruitment.  

What do you enjoy about working on-site at client/in GSC? 

One standout experience I had was with one of our new clients. I was selected to join a newly formed team, and with little-to-no experience working with each other previously, we bonded together quickly to create a highly functional system and process flow that continues to receive rave reviews from our client to this very day. 

Another thing that is great about recruitment is hiring for your own team. One of our new hires has had a massive, positive impact on our team and should all go according to plan, she will be my replacement as I continue my career trajectory. It is always nice to know that you have reached a point in your career where you can confidently train someone to take over your role. 

What are the main challenges in your role with Resource Solutions? 

It is a unique mix, and partially due to the pandemic – usually work-from-home arrangements would have caused communication gaps, which is especially apparent when you work in a global team with multiple time zones to account for. However, Resource Solutions and the clients we work with have aligned goals to success and continued to support everyone during these troubling times. Teams have responded quickly to everyone’s queries and ensure that new hires were not left behind. 

What about the culture at Resource Solutions? 

It is refreshing. My favorite part of Resource Solutions is how approachable everyone is, regardless of seniority or location. Contrary to other MNCs where biases have been apparent, our leadership strives to reach out to everyone, whether through regular global or regional calls, or in day-to-day communications.

What career path do you see yourself taking at RS? 

It is quite a coincidence that you are asking. I am starting a new training program this week, which I hope will keep me moving towards the next step in my career journey I believe that the next natural step up for me will be a Team Lead role within my function, and with that role comes several development opportunities such as stakeholder management, and team management skills that I will pick up soon. 

If someone were thinking about joining Resource Solutions, how would you describe the company and your experience? 

I tell this to everyone who asks about my time in Resource Solution. Barely two weeks into my probation period, I was involved in a serious accident, and was confined to bed rest for two months. An ordinary firm could have invoked a clause and terminated my contract early, but Resource Solutions is no ordinary company. Upon hearing the news, my managers reassured me that I would still have a job if I wanted, and that I could take a proper month off to recuperate, after which they would support my transition back to work in every way possible. 

The trust that Resource Solutions put in me so early on, took so much off my mind that it allowed me to make a full recovery, and come back even stronger. I am beyond grateful for how Resource Solutions has taken care of my well-being and look forward to the year ahead with them.
