About the Role:

The role will have a commercial law focus involving a variety of transactional work and research into laws and regulations in the APAC region. The successful candidate will primarily assist more senior lawyers within the team in drafting and negotiating large, complex and high value outsourcing commercial contracts, often involving service delivery across multiple jurisdictions in the Asian Region and elsewhere in the world. In due course, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead certain transactions with appropriate support.

Given the focus of the business, experience in employment and/or data protection would also be useful (although not essential).

Although there is an emphasis on transactional contractual work, additional project work can be expected, which may involve for example assisting with the setting up of new entities in overseas territories and other international work, various regulatory and licensing matters, handling litigation pre-action (and beyond, if required), employment claims and advice, and delivering training on relevant legal developments.

This is a real opportunity for a junior lawyer with commercial and corporate law experience to get exposure to big ticket transactions with the support and training necessary to develop and hone their skills. Who you are:

The successful candidate:

- Will ideally have a law degree from a recognised UK university.

- Is an experienced qualified solicitor with a minimum of 4-6 years PQE (post training);some of the experience must be gained from a recognised law firm and in-house MNC role.

- At least 2 years in-house experience is required.

- Has experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of general commercial contracts and able to demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for the recruitment industry and the increased use of outsourced solutions within it.

- Has the ability to identify key legal risks in transactions and has a keen attention to detail.

- Of critical importance for this role is proven experience interacting with legal and non-legal colleagues of varying backgrounds, with the ability to communicate legal advice in confidence to those with minimal understanding of legal processes/terminology.

- A demonstrated interest to work in a demanding environment with challenging stakeholders, and a keen interest to broaden his/her knowledge.
