Resource Solutions opens office in Manchester, UK

Manchester

7 million people already live within one hour’s drive of Manchester’s city centre, making it the largest travel-to-work area in the UK, outside of London1. The city is home to 2.71 million people and has also been voted one of the friendliest cities in the world. Manchester is now home to the newest location for Resource Solutions, our UK Global Service Centre (GSC).

Janine Chidlow, MD EMEA at Resource Solutions says: “These are extraordinarily exciting times for Resource Solutions, as the rapid expansion of our business continues. Our success is driven by two key factors - our people, and the exemplary service we deliver to clients. The new GSC in Manchester will support us in further strengthening both of these areas.’’

Here are 3 more reasons why we’re excited to be moving into Manchester:

  1. Liveability
The Northern powerhouse was voted the best city to live in the UK, in the 2013 Global Liveability Survey* and again in 2015, making it the 46th most liveable city in the world for 2015. Manchester is a cultural capital of the UK, with a thriving arts and culture scene with attractions such as: The Manchester Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester Art Gallery, Urbis, Manchester Town Hall, Manchester Cathedral, Northern Quarter and The Trafford Centre.

  2. Mobility
Regarded as the UK’s second city, Manchester has the largest airport outside of London, with direct flights to over 225 international destinations. Residents can escape the city on the weekends to spectacular countryside destinations nearby such as the Pennines, the Lake District, the Peak District and Snowdonia.

  3. Employability
The city is the UK’s largest provider of business, financial and professional services, outside of London, employing 324,000 people and generating £15.5 billion of gross value added (GVA**) to the annual economy. Greater Manchester is also home to one of the largest student populations in Europe, with 100,000 students studying at higher education institutions. Additionally, around 110,000 additional jobs are forecast, within Greater Manchester, for the period 2014–248.

“As a Group, we have an established footprint in Manchester, and we truly believe this is a city where we can successfully continue to grow our business” - Janine Chidlow, MD EMEA at Resource Solutions.

The new Resource Solutions UK GSC will bring with it a wealth of exciting career opportunities – focusing on the recruitment, screening, and on-boarding of fresh talent for some of the world’s leading multi-national brands.
